Large Antique 16 x 20 FLOCK OF SHEEP in Barn Stable OIL PAINTING Framed

Presented for your consideration is this nice antique oil painting. The painting is of a flock of sheep in a barn (or stable). In the center are four sheep gathered around a water basin and standing in front of the basin are two chickens. The rest of the sheep in the painting appear to be eating hay. The painting is nicely done with intricate detailing. The rich, dark earthtones of the painting are bold. This is an original oil painting done on canvas but is unfortunately not signed by the artist. However, it is extremely similar to a painting of sheep done by Charles Emile Jacque. The painting is framed in a gorgeous, ornate, shadow box style frame that is painted a dark gold color. Looks like it is ready to be hanged in a museum or art gallery! Would make a great addition to any antique or vintage art collection! There are two small spots of paint off near the upper right corner. Two spots of light paint wear are near the bottom edge. The painting is free of punctures and rips. Paint is free of crazing and cracking. Three of the corners of the frame are chipped. Overall the painting is in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details. Painting alone measures 17 1/2″ wide and 11 1/2″ long. Entire item measures 22″ wide, 16″ long and 2 deep. Antique, late 19th to very early 20th century oil painting on canvas of a flock of sheep grazing in overall good condition, unsigned. As you can see from the images the painting has two small, thin scratches to the canvas which are not complete tears and are backed on the reverse side of the canvas (painting was acquired like this). Painting likewise shows some darkening from age. In the images taken without flash there appear to be some digitized “blue streaks”, this is a distortion of my camera and not in the actual painting. Painting is an an antique, double frame which shows wear and dusting and has a cord and is ready for hanging. Entire piece including the frame measures approximately 17 3/4 x 14 3/4 inches. Framing paintings at home can be an extremely economical and rewarding hobby. The process from start to finish can be done in four steps after the initial materials purchasing. There are many online videos showing how to do each step of this process. The items needed for such a project are in bold letter below. So as to seal in the paint and protect your art piece from dust, you can put several coats of. Acrylic varnish on it with a sponge or paint brush. This product also comes in a spray can.
