This is a lovely oil on canvas portrait of a young affluent Georgian gentleman. Dressed in traditional attire of the era, he is posed regally with his left hand slipped under the edge of his jacket. Painted with intricate detail and life like quality, this really is a wonderful example of fine art at it’s best. Could possibly be the early work of the artist John Theodore Heins, although we are unable to verify this. There is no visible signature. Presented in a beautiful black ebony frame with gilt insert. The painting is in good condition commensurate with age. Note, the frame has a chip to the bottom right corner (refer to photo), but otherwise is in good condition commensurate with age. 81cm W x 95cm H x 5cm D.
