A gorgeous oil painting signed and dated as shown in close up pic. It was beautifully framed with gold gilt wood and a black velvet sort of speak passpartout. Pics 9,10, and 11 show paint loss flaws areas. Pic 12 shows a close up pic example of some gold paint loss located on the wood. The flaws mentioned are minor in my view, meaning they could be an easy retouch, or do nothing about it. Or else a great original painting. The outer frame is about 28″ x 33″ and weighs about and over 7lbs before packaging. The painting is About 24″ x 22″. Thank you and have a great day! Update the third picture has been recently added, it depicts through a thick cloud upper center of the painting a light blue streak in color. This is very hard to notice and is original by the artist, either he reused the canvas or originally was going to paint using the color blue but changed his mind. This is not damage nothing at all has changed from when this post was first posted the painting is as shown beautiful for its age. Once again the blue streak has been covered with thick white paint which made up the clouds upper we just wanted to make sure this was stated. Vintage original oil on canvas painting “Jones Island” signed Pierre Henri Matisse. Painting m easures approx. 16″ x 20″ and includes a Certificate of Authenticity and a signed promotional brochure for the artist’s newly released book- The Missing Matisse: A Memoir. This amazing piece is from a series of Florida landscape paintings created in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s by Pierre H. Matisse, grandson of the infamous Henri Matisse. As a child in France, Pierre trained under his grandfather and grew up among some of the most famous artists in history, including Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali. Pierre relocated to the United States in the 1960’s and currently lives in Florida. I had the pleasure of meeting Pierre on a couple of different occasions. The artist confirmed that this painting is indeed 100% genuine and supplied me with the COA and brochure that are included with the painting. Painting is in good condition, colors are bright, no tears on canvas, some scuffs and scratches on frame.
