Pair of very attractive antique oil of canvas, still life paintings in the original frames. Total measurements including frame: 46cm x 35.5cm. British and date to approximately late Victorian – 1920s. The painting themselves are in very good order. The painting with the very dark flowers has a few minor paint losses in a tiny area. The frames are in good, antique condition with no damage but some wear to the inner gilded border. The backs are in very good, sound order and one is complete with the original retail/gallery/information label intact. There is an original retail/information label on the back of the Tulips painting. Artist – S E Hughes. There is also some further information that I cannot make out, including the original price possibly. They are on quality canvas. Stamp on reverse of canvases reads as follows: Winsor & Newton’s. No2 Quality Prepared Canvas. Frames are unglazed and are ready to hang. Items will be wrapped carefully and securely for transit.
