THIS IS A STATELY ITALY ITALIAN OIL ON CANVAS FROM THE 17TH CENTURY OF SAINT CARLO BORROMEO THE PATRON SAINT OF MILAN ITALY. HE WAS A CARDINAL AND ITALIAN ARCHBISHOP HE IS SEEN WITH HIS ATTRIBUTES OF A SKULL AND JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS / CRUCIFIX. THE PAINTING HAS NOT BEEN RELINED OR REPAIRED. TO MAKE IT BECAUSE OF ITS SIZE , TWO CANVASES WERE SEWN TOGETHER WHICH IS VISIBLE. THERE IS SLIGHT DAMAGE TO THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER WHICH WOULD MOSTLY BE HIDDEN WHEN IT IS FRAMED. PLEASE LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE PHOTOS AS THEY TELL THE WHOLE STORY. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN HUNG IN A CHURCH CHAPEL. THIS WOULD BE CONSIDERED EUROPEAN BAROQUE.
