Caws in the fields. Signed lower right corner. Artist Edward (Édouard) Chappel (Great Britain / Belgium 1859 – 1946). Chappel was born in London in 1859. He studied painting with Charles Verlat. In 1929 he started to exhibit at the Salon Des Artistes Français in Paris. He was painter of landscapes and seascapes. A painting of Chappel is in the collection of the Musee d Orsay in Paris. He died in 1946 in Cagnes-sur-Mer, French Riviera. Size Unframed 20″ x 16″ (approximately). Framed 23″ x 18 1/2″ (approximately).
