Trujillo is the recipient of numerous juried awards from national and regional shows that include “Best of Show”, “1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place” designations, “Best Use of Color”, and several “Awards of Merit”. Her work is actively collected Internationally and throughout the United States. Silvia began a career in the art and fashion industry in the 1970s. She turned her focus to painting in the 1980’s, and then studied with a series of notable artists and instructors; including Wayne Theibaud, Gregory Kondos, Gil Dellinger, Terry Miura, Suchitra Bohsle, and Susan Sarback. Throughout her decades as a professional artist, Trujillo has become well known for her modern take on romantic impressionism. Her influences include the early tonalists (especially George Innes), and modern landscape painters like Tom Thomson, Birger Sandzen, and Wayne Thiebaud. She often says that these great painters provide the influence, but the beautiful landscapes of the West Coast are her inspiration. True to her impressionist influences, Silvia Trujillo uses lost and found edges, varied brushwork and a range of color temperatures / values to show depth and form. Her captivating work conveys a sense of space and timelessness with distinctive style. Silvia travels frequently in search of new landscapes to paint. One weekend may find her in a remote cabin on the Oregon Coast, the next in Napa Valley. She loves plein air painting, and her particular passions are water, skies, oak trees in all seasons, and farm animals. She lives in Southern Oregon, where she is active in the local art scene. When she isnt painting or teaching art, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and studying spiritual disciplines. We hope that by offering fine art at a reasonable price, Silvia’s work will reach and inspire those outside the spheres of galleries and collectors. An original work of art is an investment to last a lifetime, and the paintings of Silvia Trujillo are created with the utmost attention to detail and quality to exceed your expectations.
