I have viewed a lot of Hugo’s paintings and, in my opinion. This particular painting’s subject matter, color, composition and quality, make this one of his very best works! As for the artist, Hugo Casar was born in Danzig, Germany in 1911. He studied in the cities of Konigsberg, Berlin and Paris. After that he came to. Hugo was known for his modernist landscapes, nautical. Clowns and in particular, children. A very unique style to paint them, creating sort of a fantasy around them. The handsome vintage frame has a depth of 2 and is in overall good condition with some very minor chipping and surface abrasions consistent with its age.
