This is an antique portrait of a lovely lady. The lady is from New York. As you can see from the photos, she is very well dressed and is obviously a lady of some wealth. This is one of two portraits. Both come complete with provenance on verso. The painting itself measures 24″ x 30″ and it is displayed in a later gilt wood frame measuring 27″ x 33″. The portrait is unsigned, but is of exceptional quality in its execution, and displays beautifully. This is an exquisite antique portrait. 19th century American school. There is a sweetness about this woman’s face, particularly the eyes, and a softness that extends even to her clothing. It’s the kind of portrait you just can’t stop looking at. The painting itself measures 29 1/2″ x 24 5/8″” and is displayed in a fine gilt wood antique frame measuring 38 3/4″ x 33 1/2. This is a portrait that, although unsigned, was obviously produced by a master painter. Some craquelure, in-painting and bubbling to canvas. The gilt wood frame shows some wear. Probably it is English painter, there is a lot of evidence which supports possible painting age. “Newspaper” glued around inside frame, very old, there is plenty of dust as well : What can i add to it – painting with sole for sure. Condition: for it’s age is good, frame has some minor cracks, all over frame itself, inside frame made out of wood, outside made out of something else. Racks are not visible from a few feet distance, just when closely inspecting frame can be seen, please expect wear&tear on frame as well.
