Frame Size: 44 1/4 x 32 1/8. Visible Artwork Size: 39 5/8 x 27 5/8. Medium: oil on canvas. This is quite the dramatic sea painting, combined with a high quality frame. Its unfortunate that it suffered some damage, but it was mostly repaired professionally, and you need a keen eye to spot the fixes. Its signed and dated in the lower right corner, but I was unable find out any info about them. The back had a paper put on more recently, which I peeled off so you can see the repairs. You can still see about 2.5 of a tear near the left edge, and near the right edge there was a tear in the shape of the less than symbol. There are a bunch of pink arrows in the photos pointing out the tears, a scuff, little chips, impressions in the canvas, etc. Its possible that the big cloud in the middle was also repainted, but I cant tell for sure. My favorite part of the painting is the cresting waves. The artist used a lot more paint on them, which gives the painting extra texture. The frame is very nice, made out of wood with molded gesso and gilt finish. It has some wear to the corners, but overall looks good. _gsrx_vers_827 GS 7.0.13 (827).
