The crisp, bright, airy and colorful painting depicts a rural ranch or farm house with a dusting of snow, showing desert sagebrush and windswept tree, a rough, rocky yard, and lofty cloud-shrouded mountains in the distance. As a lover of the mountain desert this painting captures the essence of a time and place. Perhaps a viewer knows the location of this rustic, remote house and mountain view. Obscured writing on the paper backing (see photos) may reveal part of the paintings original title, ________ a Utah Farm. A graduate of the University of Utah at age 22, the artist went on to study painting at the Art Institute of Chicago, and taught painting at UUtah for 25 years. The majority of her paintings are retained in a private collection, so this may indeed be a rare find. 16 by 20 painting is mounted in a 19 3/4 by 23 3/4 frame. The final photo in this listing shows the painting before the repair, and is included only for comparison. Water stains and tears on the paper backing (see photos) do not affect the painting surface, which is in excellent condition. Frame shows minor wear. Enjoy your visit, and happy shopping!
