Antique Realism Oil Painting Late 18th C. Portrait of a Gentleman European Art
DESCRIPTION / CONDITION / PROVENANCE. This is a stunning!! (pictures do not do this piece justice) antique oil painting on canvas, probably dates around the 1780’s-90’s could be slightly earlier, European portrait of a upper class gentleman. We examined the piece for a signature, and could not seem to locate one, paint has darkened over the years, so it’s hard to see. The condition of the painting is very nice for it’s age, no major damage that we can see, was well taken care of. Painting is tightly stretched, possibly re-lined, and has a nice thick coat of varnish. This is another piece we acquired from a friend of ours, who has an amazing private collection of art and antiques and sometimes sales a few of his pieces once in a while, this piece being one of them, and a few others too be listed soon. Large 17th Century Lombard Oil Painting Of Saint Carlo Borromeo Patrón Of Milan
THIS IS A STATELY ITALY ITALIAN OIL ON CANVAS FROM THE 17TH CENTURY OF SAINT CARLO BORROMEO THE PATRON SAINT OF MILAN ITALY. HE WAS A CARDINAL AND ITALIAN ARCHBISHOP HE IS SEEN WITH HIS ATTRIBUTES OF A SKULL AND JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS / CRUCIFIX. THE PAINTING HAS NOT BEEN RELINED OR REPAIRED. TO MAKE IT BECAUSE OF ITS SIZE , TWO CANVASES WERE SEWN TOGETHER WHICH IS VISIBLE. THERE IS SLIGHT DAMAGE TO THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER WHICH WOULD MOSTLY BE HIDDEN WHEN IT IS FRAMED. PLEASE LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE PHOTOS AS THEY TELL THE WHOLE STORY. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN HUNG IN A CHURCH CHAPEL. THIS WOULD BE CONSIDERED EUROPEAN BAROQUE. MEASURES A LARGE 24 X 28 THERE IS A PAPER BACKING WHICH I HAVE NOT REMOVED. THIS IS LIKELY A LOMBARD SCHOOL PAINTING AND IS FROM THE AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT. Original Signed Bob Ross Oil Painting, COA, Rare
This is an original, signed, authenticated, oil painting on canvas, created by Bob Ross, created during a live television presentation at a station where I worked. Bob made several appearances and I worked in production quite closely with him. We became friendly and I looked forward to his appearances. Bob shared many stories about his family, especially those about his son and a play his son was writing and Bob was to appear in. He was so genuinely nice and friendly. I was very fortunate to have met him and received this painting as a gift from him personally. This painting comes with a certificate of authenticity from the Bob Ross estate. Please note- this painting was never framed and put into storage. Due to the age, there are two minor stains that are part of the painting and documented on the COA.
